Opa Opa Taverna | Our Story
A Lifetime of Greek Cooking on the Grand Strand
Opa Opa Taverna & Bakery is the life's work of Lily Parastatidis — an award-winning Greek restaurateur who brought her family recipes, her from-scratch bakery, and her genuine hospitality to Myrtle Beach's Village Shops at Grand Dunes. "Opa!" is the Greek exclamation of celebration, and it's the spirit that drives everything here.

Lily's Journey to the Grand Strand
Lily started cooking in professional kitchens at age 11, and over 35+ years she built a devoted following across multiple states. When she relocated to Myrtle Beach, she brought every recipe and technique she'd refined across a lifetime of cooking.
No Shortcuts, No Compromises
The moussaka is layered by hand, the avgolemono finished with real egg and lemon, the souvlaki off the grill just as it would be in Thessaloniki — guests who've traveled to Greece say so themselves. Lily's rule is simple: cook it the right way or don't cook it at all.
The Bakery That Sets Us Apart
There's nowhere else on the Grand Strand where you can find spanakopita, bougatsa, koulouri, and prozimi bread made the traditional way — alongside baklava layered with cinnamon-spiced nuts and organic honey. Daughter Hristina handles the desserts, turning out everything from scratch every single day.
A Place Where Guests Become Regulars
Lily still greets every table herself, and her team — recognized by name in guest reviews — treats every visitor like a neighbor. That warmth earned Opa Opa Best Greek Restaurant in Myrtle Beach from the Quality Business Awards in 2024, and a Restaurant Guru award in 2022.
